| 1907 | Otto Spaleck‘s son, Max, joins the company. |
| 1918 | Enlargement of the production program to include wire processing
machines, weaving reeds, warp beam flanges and looms. |
| 1924 | Max Spaleck takes over in Greiz and specialises in the
manufacture of healds and reeds as well as in production
machinery for loom accessories. |
| 1928 | Production of the first surface finishing machines for bulk articles. |
| 1933 | Siegfried Spaleck takes over the leadership of the company
from his father Max, who passed away aged 53. He is supported
by his mother Clara who, together with his sister Elizabeth had
already been involved in the running of the company
for some time. |
| 1946 | Dismantling of the plant by occupational forces.
Continuation of the company under the most adverse conditions. |
| 1949 | Flight of the Spaleck family to West Germany and re-establishment
of the company in Bocholt. The manufacturing line now
includes machines for the production and maintenance of
weaving machine accessories as well as equipment for surface
finishing. |
| 1958 | Annemarie, the wife of Siegfried Spaleck, joins the
management of the company. |
| 1965 | Siegfried Spaleck dies without having been able to reap
the benefits of the difficult re-construction in the West.
Annemarie Spaleck leads the company. |
| 1974 | Otto Spaleck, the son of Annemarie and Siegfried Spaleck
joins the management of the company, making this the fourth
generation of the family to run the business. |
| 1975 | Building of a new factory in Robert-Bosch Street.
A cold rolling mill is constructed and the production of precision
flat wire begins. |
| 1983 | SPALECK enters the market with fundamentally
new surface finishing machinery. |
| 1989 | Founding of SPALECK Ltd. in Toronto, Canada. In the following
years, further subsidiary companies are founded in Spain,
France and Switzerland. |
| 1991 | Founding of SPALECK Oberflächenveredlung GmbH in Greiz/Thuringia and the construction of a highly modern factory for the production of galvanized products and other processes connected with surface refinement. |
| 1992 | The newly founded SPALECK Oberflächentechnik GmbH & Co. KG
takes over the surface finishing technologies. |
| 1994 | 125th anniversary of the company. |
| 1995 | The newly founded SPALECK-Bekaert GmbH & Co KG takes over
flat wire manufacture in partnership with the Belgian company, Bekaert. |
| 1997 | Founding of NovoChem Metallchemie GmbH, which takes over the metal chemistry operations. Many years of experience in conveying and separating bulky objects is used to found a new division which later expanded into other areas of application, especially for waste recycling. |
| 1998 | Sale of SPALECK Oberflächentechnik GmbH & Co. KG.
SPALECK GmbH & Co. KG extends its activities by precision parts division. Purchase of modern CNC equipment. |
| 2000 | Acquisition of Kamps + Epping GmbH in Bocholt, manufacturers
of sheet metal products for industry and architecture. Production
and administration is transfered to SPALECK GmbH & Co. KG. |
| 2001 | Acquisition of Krögel GmbH & Co. KG in Bocholt,
manufacturers of special purpose machinery. Krögel‘s special
purpose machinery program for the textile, plastics and paper
industries, expands the existing machinery construction activities
of the SPALECK Group. |
| 2002 | Acquisition of Bruker Technik GmbH in Schramberg by
SPALECK-Bekaert GmbH & Co. KG. The new acquisition is
specialised in the manufacture of high precision copper flat
conductors. Extension of the precision parts division
and tremendous enlargement of the CNC machine pool. |
| 2005 | Complete modernisation and enlargement of sheet metal
production, including investment in a laser cutting centre and
a CNC sheet metal brake. Expansion of the subcontracting division and increased concentration on system supplying. |
| 2006 | End of cooperation with the Bekaert Group in the manufacture of precision
flat wires. Founding of the joint venture Bruker-SPALECK
GmbH, in partnership with the Kern-Liebers Group. |
| 2007 | Founding of SPALECK Präzisionstechnik GmbH & Co. KG in Greiz/
Thuringia by Frank Spaleck, the son of Otto Spaleck. Thus the
fifth generation of the family is now active in the business.
The company manufactures precision parts using high
performance CNC turning, milling and grinding machines, in
modern production facilities, especially built for this purpose. |
